LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Entergy Arkansas reports that more than 8,900 customers remain without power after severe thunderstorms struck Arkansas. The power company reported yesterday morning that more than 2,400 outages were reported in Jefferson County, more than 1,700 in Grant County and more than 1,000 customers were still without electricity in Pulaski County following the Thursday night storms. The company said some outages may not be repaired until Sunday morning.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A conference that organizers say is a response to the unrest in Ferguson will get under way next week at the Clinton Presidential Center. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder and former President Bill Clinton will open the forum on race relations and community policing. The U.S. Conference of Mayors is sponsoring the Wednesday and Thursday event.

WARREN, Ark. (AP) - A southeastern Arkansas poultry plant that was closed four years ago has been reopened. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Ozark Mountain Poultry on Friday reopened the plant in Warren that was formerly operated by H and L Poultry.

PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a Paragould woman and a Newport man have been killed in separate auto accidents in northeastern Arkansas. State police say 33-year-old Jennifer Hill of Paragould died and two children were injured when her car was struck Friday by a pickup truck on Highway 412 in Paragould.
